Levathes, a former staff writer for National Geographic tells the story of seven epic voyages (1405-1433) made by unique junk armadas during the reign of the Chinese emperor Zhu Di. These "treasure ships" under the command of the eunuch admiral Zheng He traded in porcelain, silk, lacquerware and fine-art objects; they sailed from Korea and Japan throughout the Malay archipelago and India to East Africa, and possibly as far away as Australia.

Even if the payroll tax were left alone and all promised benefits were eventually paid out to young workers, these workers would get a tiny real annual rate of return of 1% to 1.5% on average, according to a Cato Institute analysis. Even a risk-free government bond pays 3% to 4%.
Taking personal accounts off the table eliminates the only option that will provide a better rate of return for future generations. As the nearby chart shows, personal accounts earning market returns would provide roughly twice as high an annual benefit to low income workers upon retirement, three times as high a benefit for middle income workers, and four times more to those with an income in today's dollars of $94,200 a year.

- Login to the old Zope Management Interface
- Check the box next to the Plone site and click 'Import/Export' at the page bottom
- Select the 'Save to file on server' radio button and click 'Export'.
- Remember the filename.zexp. It is now in the var folder.
File System Activity
- Access the web server file system
- Move the Plone site .zexp file from the old Zope instance var folder to the new Zope instance import folder
- Determine on what Zope or Plone products the old Plone site depends. Inventory products available on the new Zope instance.
- Copy or install required Zope products in the Products folder in the new Zope instance
Import the Plone site to the new Zope instance
- Login to the new Zope Management Interface
- Click 'Import/Export' at the page bottom
- Next to 'Import file name' select the Plone site .zexp file
- Select the 'Retain existing ownership information' radio button and click 'Import'.
- If successful, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, check that required Zope products are installed.
Archetypes Migration
- In the new ZMI, go to the imported Plone site and click on the ATContentTypes Tool (portal_atct)
- Go to the 'Recatalog' tab, click the 'Recatalog CMF types' button and then the 'Recatalog ATContentTypes' button
- Go to the 'Type Migration' tab, click 'Fix' missing portal types, 'Fix' portal type names' and then 'Migrate'.
- Go to the 'Version Migration' tab, check the box next to 'Dry Run' and click 'Upgrade'
- If the Dry Run is successful, click the 'Upgrade' button.
Plone Migration
- In the new ZMI, go to the Plone Migration Tool (portal_migration)
- Go the the 'Migrate' tab, click 'Dry run' and click 'Upgrade'.
- If this says 'Migration has failed' near the bottom, skip the next step.
- If 'Migration successful', click 'Upgrade' button. Now browse and test the new website!
Rebuild Plone Site
- In the new ZMI, rename the Plone site object from 'domainname.com' to 'domainname.old'.
- Select 'Plone Site' in the top right pulldown and click 'Add'.
- Rename the new Plone site object as the primary website, ie, 'domainname.com'.
- Go to the imported Plone site object 'domainname.old'.
- Click the 'Type' column title to sort by type and then 'Copy' all Plone content. Specifically:
- Folders
- Pages
- Images
- News items
- Events
- Archetypes and Custom content items
- Go to the new Plone site object 'domainname.com' and 'Paste' all imported Plone content from 5.
- Go to the following new Plone Site objects and match all fields with the imported Plone site.
- Plone Site 'Properties' tab
- Plone Catalog Tool (portal_catalog) 'Metadata' and 'Indexes' tabs. Then 'Update Catalog' in 'Advanced' tab.
- Plone Property Sheet (site_properties)
- And many other Plone objects that may be customzied...
- For improved security...
- New Plone site Plone PAS Membership Tool (portal_membership): click the 'Turn folder creation off' button.
- New Plone site Plone Registration Tool (portal_registration): Uncheck the 'Visible?' box and 'Save'.
